What makes Snowtraxx International the Leading School Ski Trip Provider?

Now approaching our 15th year of operation, we are extremely proud of the product we can offer to all our customers. We are not about the quick sale—we are about getting to know each and every one of our clients and catering for their group on an individual basis. No ski trip is the same with Snowtraxx International. We do not offer a “one size fits all” service but a package that is tailored to the individual needs of each client group. Our customers are at the heart of our business, they drive us to better our product and services year upon year, and we are delighted that this has been reflected in the long-lasting customer relationships we have built up over our many years of operation. Excellent customer service is one of our key attributes. All of our staff pride themselves in delivering only the best, sharing the Snowtraxx International ethos of “Making Ski Trips Memorable.”

Which resorts do you operate in?

We have six resorts across Europe (Austria, Italy & Switzerland) that we work closely with, as well as Jasper in Canada. Click on the Destinations tab to see information on all resorts.

How many students per group lesson?
We aim to have no more than 10 pupils per group for ski and snowboard lessons. Our smaller classes allow for maximum progression and individual teaching time.
Why are Snowtraxx staff so special?
Our instructors are all fluent English speakers and stay in your hotel. This ensures that there is no language barrier and rapport can be built outside lesson times. Your group will have the same instructors all week to enhance continuity and consistency. We hire all of our own Instructors and Resort Managers, so we know exactly who will be working with your school group. We also ensure that all staff members are first aid qualified and background checked. Each of our Instructors is customer service focused and dedicated to providing your group with an excellent experience in resort.
Do you cater for small groups?
We base our air travel packages on a minimum of 24 full paying students and our coach tours on a minimum of 40 full paying students, but we can certainly cater for smaller groups. The minimum number we can cater for is 16 full paying students.
Are hot lunches served daily?
Hot lunches are served daily in all resorts apart from Saas-Fee where packed lunches are provided. Lunches will either be served in the hotel or in a mountain restaurant. Hot lunches can be provided in Saas-Fee for a supplement; please request this service at the time and we can include this in your quote.
What are the advantages of travelling by air or coach?
Both means of travel offer advantages dependent on what suits your school best.
Air Travel offers:
– Shorter travel times, meaning you get to start your holiday sooner!
– We work closely with major airlines such as British Airways, KLM, Lufthansa, and EasyJet to accommodate local departure points where possible.
– Each school flight schedule is arranged to provide our customers with the best and most convenient service possible.
Coach Travel offers:
– No luggage restrictions, so bringing your own skis or snowboard is not a problem.
– Departure and return point direct from your school, which means everyone starts and ends their journey together.
– We choose only the best coach companies that provide our groups with comfortable and safe executive vehicles.
– Most of our resorts are 10-12 hours from Calais, so a short overnight journey.
– You will have the same coach for the entire trip.
– Travelling by coach generally offers a more affordable option for your school.
What Après-Ski Activities are available?
All après activities for each resort can be found in our brochure. Each resort offers a fantastic choice of afternoon/evening activities for your group. Please let us know which activities you would like to do during your trip and we can add these into your quote.
What quality of rental equipment do you use?
We like to provide our customers with high quality rental equipment. All of the rental shops we use have worked with us for a number of years now, so understand the quality our customers are used to when on a Snowtraxx International Trip and this ensures our customers are only provided with the best equipment.
Do you offer ski suit rental?
We are aware that purchasing ski gear can become very costly. That is why we offer a ski suit rental service to our clients, as well as the opportunity to purchase a Snowtraxx Accessory Pack. More information on these services can be found on our Equipment Rental and Merchandise page.
What is the payment structure?
Group Holding Deposit

We understand that you need to advertise your trip to pupils, so we are able to hold the package and guarantee the tour price with payment of a group holding deposit. We can usually allow up to 60 days to collect and pay individual deposits per paying passenger.

Initial Deposits

Initial deposits per paying passenger must be paid to us within 60 days. At this stage we will require a fully completed, typed passenger information list (names as on passports with initial deposits to confirm your booking).

Second Deposits (for UK schools only)

We require a second deposit per paying passenger, 10 weeks after the initial deposits are due.

Final Balance

The final balance is due no later than 10 weeks prior to departure.

How are we protected financially if something goes wrong?

ATOL – Your air holidays are ATOL protected by the Civil Aviation Authority. Our ATOL number is ATOL 9083. ATOL protection extends primarily to customers who book and pay in the UK.

ABTA – Our ABTA number is Y5242. If you buy a land or sea-based holiday (such as coach, rail, or ferry) from us, your monies will be protected by the ABTA scheme of financial protection. This means that if your travel company fails and your holiday can no longer go ahead you will be entitled to a refund if you are yet to travel and hotel costs and transport home if you are abroad. Booking with an ABTA Member also gives you recourse should you have a problem or complaint with your travel company.

TRAVEL INSURANCE – We include a fully comprehensive travel insurance policy with Winter Sports Cover as standard in our packages for all members of your trip. If you have your own travel insurance policy that you would prefer to use then let us know and we can deduct this from the package. Policy wording and terms and conditions will be sent through for your reference.

What are Snowtraxx International's emergency procedures?

Snowtraxx International maintains and practices emergency procedures to follow in the event of a serious incident. The Emergency Procedure manual is regularly reviewed and updated.

A Duty Officer of Snowtraxx International is contactable 24 hours per day via either the main office number or mobile phone out of hours whilst groups are on tour. All Party Leaders will be given information on how to contact the Duty Officer as part of their Travel Pack.

The Duty Officer will have available at all times, details of all groups currently on tour and emergency contact numbers for all suppliers. The Duty Officer will log all calls. If a call represents an incident which has compromised the safety of a customer, an incident report will be completed.

These reports are logged and used to review procedures and determine priorities for risk management.

How do I advertise the trip to pupils and parents?

Call one of our office staff to assist you with ideas on marketing the trip to pupils and parents. As for advertising the trip around school, we can supply you with a PowerPoint Presentation of your School’s trip, which can be invaluable in parents’ and board meetings.

Can we do Cultural Excursions on our trip?

Cultural excursions can add an educational element to any trip! We can provide cultural excursions to historical sites, places of interest, or cities (for sightseeing or shopping or both). These can be factored into your trip, you just need to make us aware at time of quote and we can either replace one of your skiing days, or add this as a separate day at the start, end, or mid-way through your trip.

How do I know I'm getting value for money?

We source the best hotels, resorts, instructors, and travel. You may be paying a fraction more, but it is absolutely worth it for the quality of our products and people, which in turn allows us to create an excellent and unforgettable ski trip for your group.

Can I have a reference/recommendation from one of your existing customers?
Due to data protection, we cannot give out any contact details for our customers, however we will happily contact them on your behalf and request that they send you a reference of their experiences of working with Snowtraxx International. You can also view feedback from our clients here.
Independent operator, what does that mean for us?

As an independent operator, there are many benefits to your school, here are just a few:

– We operate a small team which allows us to build long-standing relationships with our clients.

– We are outright specialists in the school ski trip market, not a by-product of a bigger corporate organisation, therefore our focus is solely on providing our customers with the best school ski trips to suit their exacting requirements, not supplying the same product repeatedly.

– We can use any airline that your group prefers, providing there is availability and suitable timings.

– Nothing is too much trouble, specific requests can be accommodated for your group. As we have no corporate restrictions, this allows us to be flexible and remain more customer focused.

What is COBIS?
COBIS is the Council of British International Schools, an organisation representing and supporting the provision of outstanding education in British International Schools of global quality. Snowtraxx International are proud to be a Supporting Member of this highly regarded organisation and also act as their sole School Ski Trip provider.
One of our main concerns is avalanches as we hear about tragedies in the news: what are the safety precautions in this respect?

All of our lessons take place on marked slopes. None of our instructors will take your students off the pisted trails, therefore alleviating the risk of any danger. All of our resorts are safety monitored, therefore all precautions necessary have been put in place to maintain a safe skiing environment for all of our groups.

A few of our group have birthdays whilst they are in resort, is anything provided for this?
As long as we are made aware of birthdays within your group prior to travel, we will arrange a cake for the pupil (or teacher!) at your accommodation on the evening of their birthday.
Does the insurance product include a search and rescue extension?

If your package includes travel insurance with winter sports cover, be assured that a search and rescue extension has been added. Safety is paramount. In case of injuries our staff knows how to best take care of the injured person and will escort or evacuate them away from the slopes as quickly and safely as possible.
